Teaching Word Faith Center began in April of 1983 in a storefront building on McCart Street with Pastors Joe & Mary Jessie Barrera and Associate Pastors Raymond & Sylvia Barrera. They started with approximately 25 members and grew to about 150 members in a matter of three years because of a caring atmosphere and evident move of God which attracted people from all ages, religious backgrounds, races and walks of life. Because of their rapid growth, T.W.F.C. needed bigger facilities and moved into a building which was used as a warehouse. After approximately 6 years there, T.W.F.C. outgrew their facilities again and purchased another building which was Bill Martin's Seafood Restaurant located on I-35 south. To date, T.W.F.C. has approximately 450 active members and several thriving ministries. As Pastor Joe and Mary Jessie lead their congregation with the message of Jesus Christ, lives are being transformed. They don't believe in limits but believe that all things are possible!
