Pastor Joe L. Barrera, along with his wife, Pastor Mary Jessie, are the founders and senior pastors of Teaching Word FAITH Center (T.W.F.C.). They began their ministry in April of 1983 which is now a thriving church . T.W.F.C. is a healthy, full-time, functioning ministry consisting of several other ministries.

Pastors Joe & Mary Jessie attended Overcoming Faith Center Church where Dr. Jerry Savelle was their Pastor.  Pastor Joe graduated from Jerry Savelle's Bible College 
Pastor Mary Jessie graduated from International School of Ministries & Jack Hayford Pastoral Nurture 4 yrs.

They are also members of the Board of Regents for Burchfield Ministries (B.M.I.) in Columbus, Texas under the authority of Pastors Tommy and Rachel Burchfield. B.M.I. is a ministry that has a Bible School for young adults; summer camps for children and youth, Men's Advances, Women's Retreats, Singles and Marriage seminars and numerous other ministries.

Pastor Joe ministers in boldness and faith, teaching the message and the principles of a God given faith that enables men and women to become successful in life and helps the child of God fulfill their dreams and goals.

Pastor Mary Jessie is used mightily in the gift of exhorting the people of God with confidence as the Lord has given her this nature and characteristic. She ministers at times with sincere humor and other times with stout firmness, bringing healing, deliverance and faith in God by the special anointing God has placed upon her life. Mary Jessie greatest desire is to fulfill the great commission and preach the Gospel of Jesus wherever God leads and opens doors.
